Pools, Splash Pads & Water Parks(17)

Heads up — most outdoor pools close for the season on or around Labor Day (Mon, Sept 7, 2026), with indoor rec-center pools staying open year-round. A couple of specifics worth knowing: Fairfax County's Water Mine confirmed it stays open through Labor Day itself, closing out the season with a "Dog Daze" event for dogs. NOVA Parks waterparks (Pirate's Cove, Volcano Island) have published hours that currently only run through Aug 23 — possibly an earlier close than Labor Day, so double-check before a late-August visit. Hours also shift for holidays and swim meets throughout the season — treat these as a starting point and check the official page before you load up the car.
